Grace
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God.” – Ephesians 2:8
One of the wonderful parables Jesus told was the parable of the prodigal son found in Luke 15. It is the story of a son who decided to turn away from his father. He went and squandered all of the inheritance he had insisted that his father give. Being poor, needy and hungry, he returned. The father not only embraced him back, but he was out each day looking in the distance for him to return. Therefore, when the son was in sight, the father ran to him. The son was loved deeply by his father and offered him grace with no questions. Jesus said this is exactly how our Heavenly Father feels about us. Therefore, I thought this was a great story of grace to share with the girls. We read the story from “The Jesus Storybook Bible.” Have I mentioned that you NEED to buy this book? It’s fabulous. After reading it, we played hide and seek. We had one person “run away and hide” and the others seek to find the person to bring them back to grace.
