When I first began my character development series, I had not started doing the “I Will” statements yet. Today, I will add in some “I Will” statements for kindness because that is what we were studying a year ago. We made this cute board to highlight the focus phrases. I got the idea for “I Will” Statements from “Character First,” a character based curriculum. Although I haven’t used a lot of their content, I wanted to give them credit for this idea. Our four phrases this week are:
1. I will treat others as I would like to be treated.
2. I will use uplifting words.
3. I will have loving hands.
4. I will smile at people.
This main concept was used, with permission, from the Character First Education Curriculum.

Love your ideas! My children did Character First when they were younger and I felt like that program really helped support what we were teaching at home. I would like to use some of the “I Will” pages in Sunday school but cannot find them on the Character First website. Any ideas where I can find them for several of the character traits? Thank you!
I am glad you found this helpful. I’m not sure where to find the Character First “I Will” statements, but if you hover over my kids tab and click on the character development, you will see all the words that we did. You can look for the “I Will” statements under the individual traits as well as a number other activities. You can also search “I will…” in the search engine. I started my character development series and then my friend introduced me to character first. I loved the concept of “I will..” so began to add that idea to my series. I hope that helps and thank you so much for taking an interest.
