Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Mint chocolate chip cookies might just become your new favorite if you love this classic combination.
I’m highly aware that, in baking, getting the mint balance correct is so important. It can go wrong quickly. Two of my kids, when testing these cookies said, “They’re delicious, and they don’t taste like toothpaste.” That’s a win.
Part of the trick was using peppermint instead of mint. I recently tried mint in a different recipe creation…not even that much…and it went really wrong. I’m still working on perfecting that recipe for you.
I really hope your family enjoys this new cookie recipe.

- Where do a find mint chips? I thought I would just find mint chips at the grocery store. I knew of them from my childhood. I visited three stores, but I failed to find them. I ended up purchasing them from Amazon. You can find mint chips here. Those ones were the mini version that I used. I see online that you can also purchase larger mint chips at World Market.
- Can I use an alternative to mint chips and Dove dark mint chocolate? Yes, while I am a fan of Dove mint chocolate, and I love the swirl look in the cookies, there are alternatives. While I haven’t tried them, I imagine Andes mint chips, Hershey’s mint kisses, and Lindt Milk Mint Truffles could be an alternative.
- How do I get my cookies to look like yours? Here’s a tip to make cookies look like the images you see online. It takes a little extra time, but if the presentation is up there with taste in your book, you will want to know this trick. What you want to do is reserve a small portion of the chopped Dove Dark Chocolate & Mint Chocolate Swirl and mint chips to add to the top of your cookie balls once scooped. Below is a picture of cookies that were just scooped directly vs. cookies that had the toppings pressed slightly into the cookie ball after the scoop was created. This cookie hack works for any cookie with bits added.
