Obedience
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” – Luke 11:28
When I first began my character development series, I had not started doing the “I Will” statements yet. Today, I will add in some “I Will” statements for obedience because that is what we were studying a year ago. We made this cute board to highlight the focus phrases. I got the idea for “I Will” Statements from “Character First,” a character based curriculum. Although I haven’t used a lot of their content, I wanted to give them credit for this idea. Our four phrases this week are:
4. I will learn what God asks of me.
This main concept was used, with permission, from the Character First Education Curriculum.
More Obedience Lessons in our Character Development Series
Hi Jodi, Thanks so much for the sweet message you left on my Facebook page! Your blog is lovely and I really like this idea in particular…I’m going to suggest it to my sis for my niece (she’s 9 now and entering a rough age!). I think this would be really helpful! I look forward to following your beautiful blog!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate you sending it along to your sister too. I really have been thinking about your blog today. You have the kind of photography I only dream of achieving some day.
I just ran across your blog doing a search and signed up! Just wanted to send some encouragement your way 🙂 Amazing ideas and praise Jesus for your Character Building lessons!! Thanks for your time in doing this!!
Thank you so much for your encouragement. I really see the character development series and my parenting tips as the heart of my blog, and I just love it when people get that. I’m so glad you found me. Now of to check out your blog too.
I came across your blog through the blog hop at New Nostalgia. So GLAD you are posting these things! Our 5 year old is having a hard with a) telling the truth and b) showing respect to adults. So, I’ve taken several of your posts to use at home over the rest of this week and into next week…we will be adding “Character Development” onto the lesson plan book!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I’m glad you found me. Sounds like your 5 year old is…well, a 5 year old and a human being. That’s good! It can be so discouraging to see these things in our kids, but I really hope you find some encouragement and direction here. We are constantly working on these things around here. Thanks, Jodi
I love this Obedience reminder. Not only is it adorable, but it is a visual reminder of what obedience looks like. I’m your newest GFC/email follower. I wanted to thank you for stopping by and leaving me a super sweet comment on my Valentine’s Birthday post. I hope you’ll visit again soon. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Blessings,
Nici
