Are you looking for fun things to do in Seattle this summer? Here is a list of 75 great activities you can do by yourself, on a date or with your kids. I hope this is helpful for locals, but I hope it is also inspiring for those who don’t live in the Seattle area. This list and graphic was actually sent to me by a friend. Here is what she said in her email:
I just finished a project to help plan our summer. I wrote out about 75
different activities that I want to do with the kids over the summer. I
printed them out and put them on a huge foam board that we are going to hang
in the pantry. Each week, I am going to have the kids help pick out the
activities we want to do, so that they have some say in the plans. Now that
A&H can read, it is fun for them. See pic and the list attached.
What a fabulous and ambitious plan. I’m definitely going to need to get motivated just to accomplish a little of what is on her list.
I turned my friends’ graphic into a printable for you so that if you are in the Seattle area you can just print it out, laminate it, put it on foam board, get it enlarged…whatever you want to do to make it special.
I also took the text away if you wanted to use the background to make your own list and made another printable. Some of the ideas on this list are applicable to any region, so they are great ideas to motivate your own summer fun.
It is wonderful to have unique, fun options for your kids this summer. My friend, Kelli Pritchard, wrote a great article about getting excited about summertime with your children. I love that she says to her kids, “I had you so I can be with you.” I’ll let you go over to her article to read more about her thoughts for making summer special. I love the list above because it gives tangible, exciting ideas that kids can look forward to doing. I also love that the kids have some ownership over what they choose to do. The only thing with a list like this is that you need to be willing to follow through with what is chosen. It’s great to have them choose at the beginning of the week so you can plan accordingly.

I was excited to be able to take the feature picture of a very fun helicopter ride over the city. It was a selfish gift we gave to my brother-in-law. Why was it selfish? I was a helicopter ride for three. 🙂
And of course, if in Seattle, invite some of your friends or family who live up north to join you!! We would love to do any of those things…but visiting the Theo Chocolate factory sounds fun and we haven’t had a ride on the ferris wheel yet. 🙂 The Kirkland Farmer’s Market is fun too, (Wednesdays 2-7). We are game for whatever! Love you guys!!
Totally! Let’s just put something on the calendar. School is out next Wednesday, and we’d love to hang out!
