I know there are a thousand Tasty Slow Cooker Meatball Recipes out there, but I absolutely love the one I made recently. I had intended to make one my mom often makes for the baby shower I threw. However, I was working from memory when I was snagging up ingredients at the store. Turns out my memory is super poor. I was completely off.
I looked at other recipes online and didn’t have all the ingredients for anything I found, so I decided to wing it. Once I tried the sauce, I knew I had something good going on. When others confirmed the tastiness, I knew it was share worthy.
Our baby shower consisted of all appetizers. I hope you have seen my cheesy olive tapenade crostini. We also made bacon wrapped water chestnuts, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, vegetable dippers and twice baked red potatoes (coming soon!).
Slow cooker (or crockpot) meatballs are fabulous because they can be made early, don’t use up oven space and provide a much loved protein for any celebration. They’re definitely a crowd please. They can be served on fancy toothpicks (link to the ones we chose) to match a variety of themes or can simply stay simmering on warm in the crockpot until people scoop them out.
