This toilet paper roll train became a toy for my son after the craft was complete. I love crafts that provide children with fun and experiences after they are made. Toilet paper roll crafts are always great because we all have extra toilet paper rolls hanging around.
My son, especially, loves trains. I was inspired to make this craft for and with him. However, my girls always want to take part in a craft, even if the content isn’t quite as interesting to them. After the craft was complete, Corban had a blast choo-chooing that train all around the place.
I have a recycled materials craft drawer where I collect items that we can up-cycle later. I was able to scavenge my materials from that drawer. Do you have a system in place for collecting materials for crafts? I would encourage you to build that collection because kids have so much fun making things out of these kind of materials.
I have had a great time being a writer for Kids Activities Blog, and this is one of the posts I have written for them this month. I hope you will head over to KAB for the full tutorial on how to make this toilet paper roll train. I like to share the content I am creating for them here too because a) I want to show my readers what we have been up to in my home. b) This blog has also become a keepsake for my family. It’s a way for me to document our lives together. c) I want to give you a variety of resources, no matter where they come from, to help equip you to be more intentional in your time with your kids. I hope you will head over for the full directions so that you’ll be able to do this craft with your own little ones.

I would love to share with you some other great toilet paper roll crafts. There’s no better way to cut costs than to use items and materials you have on hand.
Cute idea! All kids love trains and it’s a great way to recycle, craft, and save money all at the same time!

I love the train idea! What a great earth day project! I think we will try this! This is the latest empty roll craft we did: http://planetteachersblog.com/2017/04/22/earth-day-for-preschoolers/
