For the giraffe, I took four paper plates and cut three of them down to the inner circle of the plate. I then had the girls cut out brown pieces of construction paper and clue them to the big circle as well as two other ones. Meanwhile, I worked on the face – attaching google eyes, nose, and ears with a glue gun.
The girls then hole punched five holes in the sides of the plate, cut the twine and thread it through. I then tied the knots. Next, we connected all the parts together with hole punches and pipe cleaners twisted together in the back. We added legs and a tail and were done.
The caterpillar was strung together with pipe cleaners. Abby curled up some antennas and cut up some feet to attach with the glue gun. The google eyes were also attached with the glue gun. Corban was not a happy camper today and suddenly fell apart amid pipe cleaners.
Jodi, I LOVE the purpose of your blog here! Thanks for stopping by ours today. I’m definitely adding you to my reader as there’s so much here that I can implement with my own 4!
Thanks so much, Michelle. We obviously have the same heart in raising up our little ones and hopefully inspiring others along the road.
