Babybel Christmas Snack Ideas
It is impossible to imagine any festive table without cheese. I want to share a fun idea for a cheese platter using the beloved Babybel cheese.
Included you will learn to turn these cheeses into a jolly Santa, cute Rudolph, proud penguin, and adorable ornament balls for the Christmas food spread.
As always at Meaningful Mama, I encourage you to engage with your kids in this edible, Christmas art project. This helps solidify memories, creativity, and fine motor skills. Kids of all ages will love making this food art.
Using this idea as a base, you can create your own variations of the appetizer. I’d love to see your creations, so please tag me on social media if you make these.
To decorate the cheese, I used the red wax wrapped around the cheese. This wax is completely safe and meets all strict regulations and standards. If you accidentally swallow it, there is no health risk, but it is best to remove the wax after everyone has admired the composition.
In addition to cheese, you will need cream cheese, which will reliably fasten all parts of the Christmas images. Add some pretzels, sugar eyes, and colored sprinkles to create this snack.

How to Make Babybel Christmas Appetizer
To make these Christmas snacks, you will want to add your cream cheese to a pastry bag fitted with a size 3 or 4 piping tip. Putting a coupler inside your pastry bag will help you change tips easily, whether you are working with a bit thicker lines or smaller details. Cream cheese should be at room temperature.
Instructions for Babybel Santa
To form the jolly Santa, unwrap the cheese. Pull the ribbon and remove half of the wax. Leave the other half on the cheese.
Pipe some cream cheese around the base where you want Santa’s beard. Alternatively, you could use white melted chocolate. Sprinkle coconut shavings over it to make Santa’s beard.
Make a small ball out of the remaining wax and press it onto the hat. As long as the wax is warm from your hands it will stick perfectly.
From the remaining wax, punch out a nose using the nozzle of a piping tip.
Apply a couple of drops of cream cheese to attach the eyes and nose.
In the photo, you see two options for creating Santa. For option number one, spread a thin strip of cream cheese over the hat and attach the snowflake. For option number two, sprinkle the strip with coconut shavings.
Instructions for Babybel Penguin
To make the penguin, press into the wax a circle slightly smaller in diameter than the diameter of the cheese on the wax. You can use the large side of a pastry tip or a circle cookie cutter. Gently remove the wax with a knife and trim the wax removal strip with scissors.
Set the penguin’s eyes and beak on using the cream cheese.
Instructions for Babybel Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Remove the wax shell from the cheese. Using cream cheese, fix the chocolate eyes and nose from the wax.
Break the pretzels in half and insert them into the cheese.
Instructions for Babybel Christmas Ball Ornaments
Insert the ornament hangers without removing the wax. If using these, warn guests they are not edible. Alternatively, dust mini Reese’s cups with edible glitter and add to the Babybel using cream cheese.
Pipe stripes of cream cheese on the face of the Babybel.
For one version, add sprinkles along the cream cheese lines. In the second version, set snowflakes and sprinkle with edible glitter.
