The first thing we did was take stickers and pressed them FIRMLY against the jar. You can do this with hearts or any kind of sticker you would want.
Next, I had them squirt in the paint. I added a tiny bit of water to thin it out. We put plastic wrap over the top and then had the girls swirl the paint around inside. I was thinking these could be used with electric candles inside. If you do that, you’ll want to put a couple coats of paint. This does take a couple days to dry too, and I kept rotating them. You could remove the stickers, but I ended up liking the look of the transparent stickers I chose. I decided to put another vase inside them (it is water soluble paint) and use them as flower vases.
We do that with Christmas ornaments, never thought to go bigger with Mason jars. I guess we don’t do the stickers in the ornaments, just the paint.
Yeah – I had seen the ornament idea, and I just decided to try it this way. You could really do it with any kind of glass jar or vase. Lots of possibilities. Thanks for commenting.
Cute project! Love the outcome! Would love to have you share your projects at my party…going on now!
Didn’t make it to the last party. I will have to try and make the next one. Life is gotten too busy. Thanks for letting me know about it.

I love mason jars!! these are so cute!
I have recently fallen in love with them too. I’ve had three events in which I’ve been able to utilize them in some way. So fun.

This is so cute! I love how they turned out and I love that the little hearts aren’t all the perfect, symmetrical shapes so they just look so much more fun! : )
