Easy Air Fryer Apple Pie Fritters
We have two different kinds of food prep people in the world. Sometimes we vacillate between the two baking or cooking personalities.
The first person loves to make everything from scratch. This is the one making their own sourdough bread, fresh naan, and chili from scratch. I love cooking from scratch, but some days just don’t accommodate that desire, and that’s when I become more like the next person.
The next person is probably a higher percentage of the population, at least in the United States. This is the one who values efficiency and ease. Let’s face it, we can be busy. Sometimes it’s nice to just be able to find quick solutions for feeding friends and family.
With this recipe, I am going to accommodate both. I will provide an option for a pre-made, canned apple pie filling. Another step to make the process even quicker is to replace the individual spices with 1 Tablespoon of apple pie spice. I will also link to a recipe that has a pie filling you can replicate if you are in the making things from scratch mood.
Whatever path you choose, I hope you enjoy these apple pie fritters.

How to Make Easy Air Fryer Apple Pie Fritters
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ground cloves, and ginger. Set that aside. Alternatively, use 1 Tbsp of apple pie spice.
- Open the can of the biscuits and pull all 8 biscuits out. Pull each biscuit in half horizontally creating 16 biscuits.
- Roll out each piece of dough with a rolling pin or flatten it with your hands.
- Chop apple pie filling and place in a medium-sized bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the apple pie filling, and stir well to combine.
- Place a spoonful of the apple cinnamon filling into the center of each circle of dough, leaving about ¼ inch around the edges.
- Grab the edges and pinch them together to make small round balls, making sure your fritters are sealed completely.
- In the air fryer add a piece of parchment paper with holes, or lightly brush the basket with cooking oil.
- Place half of the apple bites seam-side up into the air fryer, making sure they do not touch.
- Cook apple pie fritters in the air fryer on the bake setting or at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes, then carefully flip them over and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Repeat steps 7-9 until all the apple bites are golden brown.
- Once cooked, coat each apple bite in the melted butter, then toss it into the combined sugar and spice mixture. Repeat until all of the apple bites are coated.
- Fritters are best when enjoyed almost immediately. Make sure they cool slightly before consuming.
