Graduation Party and Gift Idea for Christians
I have the privilege of serving with the high school youth at my church.
If you have concerns about the next generation, I wish you could have had the opportunity to be at their senior celebration night at my church last night. To hear parents speak blessings over these kids and to know the character, diligence and dreams of these individuals would give you hope for the future.
I also get to know these ladies throughout the year by being their small group leader. We meet every week to talk about the Word of God and life in general. We pray and share our hearts and lives.
There have been missions trips, service opportunities, times to laugh together, cry together and play together.
When you work with youth, May and June mean graduation parties. You should see my calendar. I’m fully booked.
This past weekend they started, and I saw the most beautiful gift idea for seniors.
The parents set out a beautiful Bible. You will want to get a Bible where there is a place for notes, journaling and messaging in the margins. Alongside the Bible was a jar full of colored pencils.
NIV, Journal the Word Bible, Large Print, Hardcover, Black: Reflect, Journal, or Create Art Next to Your Favorite VersesSargent Art Premium Coloring Pencils, Pack of 50 Assorted Colors, 22-7251
Guests went in to highlight their favorite verses and write a note of encouragement, wisdom or explanation of why the verse was chosen.
Can you imagine your grad taking this with them and pouring over it in the future? The messages will have so much depth as they come across the notes from their favorite people, highlighting the truths found in God’s word.
You have spent years pouring into the life of your child. Hopefully they have been given the desire to pour into the Word of God. That foundation will give them the desire to pour into our world, focusing on love, compassion and forgiveness as they seek out the ones most in need of Jesus.
Blessings on your senior and blessings on those who have sacrificed so much to bring them to this point where they have grown wings and get to fly.
Thank you for sharing! I hope to keep this idea for my little girl. Currently I write in a picture book each year on her birthday, but what a lovely idea to share a verse with your child each year!
