Keto Bacon and Cheese Frittata Recipe
Cooking this bacon and cheese frittata in some of the bacon grease adds to the salty and flavorful dining experience. I have some picky eaters, so I didn’t do it, but I also think this recipe would be great with green onions.
This is a recipe that kids love too, which makes it a win for the whole family.
Ingredients Needed for this Bacon and Cheese Frittata
- 7 slices bacon
- 8 eggs
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried mustard
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
- 1/2 cup shredded medium cheddar
Note: There are many combinations of cheese options that would be great here, so just choose your favorites.
How to Make a Keto Bacon and Cheese Frittata Recipe
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Heat a heavy cast iron skillet on medium-high heat and cook bacon until done.
- Place bacon on a paper-towel lined plate to cool slightly and then crumble. Leave a small amount of those nice bacon drippings in the pan.
- Beat eggs, half and half, butter, onion powder, dried mustard, salt and pepper until light and fluffy.
- Stir bacon and cheese into the egg mixture.
- Put mixture in the pan with your bacon grease.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check in the center with a knife to make sure it comes out clean and is fully cooked.
