How to Decorate for an Elegant Sage Green Baby Shower

For the tables, we had white tablecloths on top of the tables. The wicker placemats were under the paper placemats, and then there was a dinner plate with a sage green napkin on top of it, and then a dessert plate on top of that. We wrote a small poem about our mother-to-be and her new baby for the top of the plate. Gold plastic silverware, a plastic champagne glass, and a normal plastic glass were also part of the table setting.

The center of the table was lined with a sage green cheesecloth or gauze table runner. We had cut-glass flower vases filled with arrangements of small roses, baby’s breath, small daisies, and mixed greenery, including eucalyptus. There were also cut-glass candle holders with white candles.

Food Ideas for a Brunch Baby Shower

I love doing brunch for parties. Everyone loves a good brunch. So, what kinds of food did we serve?

Egg Bake Casserole – This is our family favorite recipe.
Burst Tomato, Prosciutto, and Goat Cheese Quiche – While this isn’t my recipe, it has quickly become a favorite. It’s a hit every time. I do use my own pie crust because it’s what I’m most familiar with.

A croissant tower is my new favorite thing for entertaining. It’s so easy to make, but it makes quite an impression. After testing some frozen croissants, I landed on the Walmart mini croissants to make this happen. They were the right size. While the frozen ones were tasty and said “mini,” they were too big for the tower.

Take a tall craft cone and cover it in plastic wrap. Then, swirl croissants up the cone, using a toothpick to adhere the croissants to the cone. Fill in the gaps with flowers and greenery. Finally, dust the tower with powdered sugar.

Activities for a Baby Shower

My biggest advice for planning games for a baby shower is to know your mom-to-be. Some people love games. Others hate them. Some love to be the center of attention, while others shy away from that.

Here are the baby shower activities that we did at this celebration:

Baby Shower Name That Tune – Our new mom LOVES games, so I had to come up with something fun to do. We ended up thinking of a fun game that everyone seemed to enjoy. We had teams at tables competing in Name That Tune: Baby Addition.

I found a playlist on Spotify that had songs that included the word “baby.” I would start a song. Then, I would stop it, and the first person to bang the buzzer got the opportunity to sing the next line of the song. They got bonus points if they could name the title of the song and the artist.

Diaper Words of Encouragement – We set out some diapers and Sharpies. Guests were able to write words of encouragement or scriptures on the diapers for those middle of the night changing sessions.

Baby Gift BINGO – I love baby gift BINGO because it keeps everyone engaged during gift time. Basically, everyone writes down items they think the new mom might receive in the blank spaces on the BINGO card. Then, the new mom starts opening gifts. The first one to get a BINGO wins.
